February Home Learning: Pebble Painting

At Banana Moon Barnstaple, we love extending children’s learning beyond the nursery through our monthly home learning activities.

For February, families were invited to take part in a creative activity together — pebble painting and decorating. Families could collect pebbles and craft materials from reception before enjoying this creative project at home.

Creative activities like pebble painting encourage children to explore their imagination, experiment with colours and express themselves freely. Rather than focusing on creating the “perfect” finished product, we encourage families to enjoy the process of making and exploring together.

Activities like this also support children’s emotional wellbeing. Creative play allows children to relax, express their feelings and build confidence through self-expression.

Once children had completed their pebble creations, families were invited to upload photos to the parent app to take part in our February home learning competition.

We can’t wait to see all the wonderful pebble creations our families have made together.
