Top Tips for a Rainy Day

The country is currently being battered by storms, and we're still in the midst of a wet, British winter. We know that children love being outside, and can struggle with being cooped up inside all day, so here are a few tips and ideas of what you could do with your child on a rainy day!

Brave the weather! Wrap up warm, put on your wellies and find some muddy puddles to splash in!

Find a yummy recipe and do some baking together!

Grab some cardboard from your recycling and do some junk modelling!

Make some play dough (see previous post for recipe!) and add different resources!

Create a cosy corner with cushions and blankets, and read some books and share some stories over a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Turn the volume up, put on your dancing shoes, and have a family disco!

Do a colour or shape hunt! Task your child with finding a collection of objects in a certain colour or shape.

Dress up! Create hats or costumes, or simply grab some hats, bags, shoes, shirts and jackets from your own wardrobe for your child to try on and role-play with!
