With the increasing popularity of pumpkin patches across the country, as well as in North Devon, we decided to create our own and this October we hosted our first Family Pumpkin Festival!

We transformed our front garden into a pumpkin patch and invited families to come and pick and decorate a pumpkin. We had a range of resources available for the children to select to decorate their pumpkins, from paint and glitter, to natural objects from the garden such as leaves. As well as the pumpkin decorating we also had an autumnal themed play-doh station available for children to explore and enjoy - and some of the children even chose to create hedgehogs with the play-doh and cinnamon sticks!

As well as the pumpkin decorating and play-doh station, we also had delicious warming refreshments on offer, including hot chocolate, a few of our cook’s delicious bakes and we even toasted marshmallows on our new fire pit!

It was such a lovely morning, we can’t wait to make it even bigger and better for next year!
