October Half Term

If you’re looking for some fun, free, family-friendly activities to do with your little ones this October half term, then look no further!

There are lots of autumn and Halloween themed activities happening in Barnstaple and across North Devon suitable for children under five, as well as their older siblings. We’ve complied a list of some of them here:

Affinity Devon: There is some 'hauntastic' fun happening at the Affinity Devon shopping outlet on Tuesday and Thursday of half term. There is a ‘Day of the Dead’ workshop and a slime making workshop. Northam Burrows: If you love exploring the outdoors whatever the weather, then why not try the half term activities on offer at the Northam Burrows? From spooky Halloween trails to making a bug house, to night walks and autumn ambles, there is lots going on. Barnstaple Library: Barnstaple library, as well as the other libraries in North Devon always put on a range of different activities during the school holidays. So why not encourage your little ones to get creative and have fun, as well as borrowing a book or two. Barnstaple Guildhall: It’s a building that many of us often walk past, but don’t realise it’s there! But why not go and discover this hidden gem this week, as they put on free Halloween crafts for children on Wednesday and Thursday of half term! Pumpkin Patches: If there is one thing that makes everyone think of autumn and Halloween, it’s pumpkins! Picking your own pumpkins is an activity that has become increasingly popular and there are now a number of pumpkin patches found throughout North Devon. We particularly like the Braunton pumpkin patch, that is open throughout the half term week. As well as being able to pick a variety of different shaped and sized pumpkins, there are also little surprises hiding in the patch! https://www.facebook.com/brauntonpumpkinpatch
